Question
Should I keep using the Wexler acne kit even though it's making me break out more?
I'm 26 years old and I have combination skin. It's partly oily, partly dry. Some areas get really dry, some get oily, and I get zits even when my skin is dry. Usually, my skin is fine, but it has gotten really bad this fall/winter. I switched medications and my skin got worse. Now I'm off the medication and wondering why my skin is still breaking out. I purchased the Wexler kit per the advice of the woman who gave me a facial. I've been using the Wexler products since Friday and now my entire face is oily, feels dirty, and I have more painful zits. I never get whiteheads and now I have them. Does skin always get worse before it gets better? Have I irritated my skin too much? Should I stop using it?

I have been told by dermatologists that your skin has to get worse before it can get better. If your skin is breaking out using this Anti-Acne kit, it is entirely plausible that your skin is pushing out all the 'badness', so to speak.
When you wash your face, make sure your hands are clean, and that you massage your face for 45 seconds to a minute. That gives the soap ample time to work into your pores and clean your face thoroughly. When you use a moisturizer, I highly recommend using a light one and use a VERY thin amount of it (same for the skin regenerating serum).
Too much product can cause problems. My advice for you is to use less moisturizing on your face, and give it a few more weeks. If the situation hasn't improved, consider bringing it back.
Every professional I've ever been to has told me that any serious skin changes require at least a month to be noticeable.

I think this all depends on how long you have been off medication, how long you used this after having your facial, how often you use it, etc. If you are using it according to the directions then this could be caused by the combination of all of these things at once. I have used other Wexler face products and have never had any problems. You could try giving your skin a break for a week and then starting out using the product less often to introduce it to your skin more gradually.
