Question
How strong are Scent Ports -> Vanilla Coconut?
How strong are Scent Ports -> Vanilla Coconut?
I'm looking for a STRONG scented product. I've tried dozens of things, from generic room sprays to reed diffusers to candles. The scents don't fill the room or smell strong enough for me. I've tried half a dozen brands of oil warmers and plug-ins. Not strong enough-- some of them smell great right next to the plug, but I can't smell it 3 feet away.
I've tried the BBW room sprays in orange, strawberry, and vanilla. It says 2 sprays fill a room up to 4 hours. I spray at least 8 sprays, and don't notice the scent half an hour later. I really like strong scents-- faint scents do nothing for me.
What's weird is.. I can smell the BBW room sprays and generic reed diffusers nicely at my parents house. But, in mine, I smell nothing. I've got 3 reed diffusers, 2 plug-ins, and a few candles in my living room (all the same fragrance, not BBW). Still hardly smell it when I walk in the door. My house doesn't smell *bad*, but doesn't smell... *good* either. I would leave the windows open, but can't-- they're old and won't stay open.
Would Scent Ports -> Vanilla Cocunut be strong enough for a person who likes strong fragrance like me? What can I do? I want a nice, pleasant fragrance that I can smell a long time.

I use the Vanilla Coconut Scentports and I find them to be among the stronger scents I've used.
I agree with others in that our noses do become accustomed to scents and stop sensing them.
I would really like to see the Scentports come out in a dual-chambered model with two scents that compliment each other that alternate ever so often. I've used a store brand like that and I think it makes a big difference. The constant switching back and forth keeps your nose stimulated. So I'd love to see a similar product design come out in a high quality product like the Scentport with there being so many great fragrances (Hint Hint BBW - here's a product idea for you!).
Otherwise, I find reed diffusers to be rather weak. We have fairly large rooms in our house and I like strong fragrances so it does take a minimum of 4 to 5 sprays of BBW concentrated room fragrance just to get a couple of hours of scent. Most of my rooms have at least 3 Scentports in them or in our largest bathroom we have 3 Wallflowers. So I'm with ya' on liking strong scents! If Scentports had a high/low switch, I'd think they were all set on low and would turn them all up on high.

you may have just become accustomed to the smell after a few hours or day or whatever our noses get used to the smell so try switching it up or mixing some fragrances. the scent port plug ins are stronger and tend to be better for larger rooms so that may be your best option but as harry slatkin says "layer fragrances" so use the wallflowers or scentports for your "background" music then light some candles or for more potent frag use an oil warmer (which you might wanna go with the glass top one) then for a quick burst of fragrance use the room spray and you can also try a reed diffuser for extra "background music"

I have the same problem...I had a vanilla coconut wallflower that was VERY strong, so I bought candle, a scentport and more wallflowers in the same scent, but they were not very strong at all.
I went with some advice I got on the customer conversations and moved to the "Fruitier" scents and they are much stronger. Right now I have a pineapple mango scentport and a pineapple orchid wallflower in my living room. You may need more than one unit in a big room.
I also like the scents that smell like baking (cinamonn, nutmeg, etc.), but they are better for a smaller room
I really think it has to do with how much electricity your outlet puts out, too.
OH, I was also impressed with the odor neutralizing sparkling citrus--strong enough for my husband to notice. ANd brown sugar and fig which was really good in the home fragrance oil.
The funny thing is still sometimes I can't smell anything when I walk in the door, but I think it is the people and pets in our homes that stink. We went out of town for four days, so I unplugged all my wallflowers and scentports. When we arrived home, I thought it would reek, but surprisingly it smelled really good because no stinky bodies had bee in there for a few days.
GOOD LUCK!! Your best bet is to shop the sales so you can try several different scents at a reasonable price and figure out which may work for you.
