For newborns and very young infants you shouldn't put any synthetic fragrances into the air, especially insense or airasol sprays. Once they're about a year or so, and past the risk of SIDS a Wall Flower or similar would be alright, but you need to make sure that it is not anywhere they can reach it, as everything goes into their mouths and these lovely smelling oils are very toxic if ingested. So, you don't ever want to put pillow mist, fragrance oils or even body care products like eau de toilette or body spray that is meant for adults anywhere a baby could touch or taste them, such as on bedding, on the baby them self or in a drawr to scent baby's clothing. Before the baby is a year old using essential oils only in a lamp ring works very nicely, as they smell wonderful and have both health and emotional benifits. Lamp rings also work well with synthetic oils like the ones that Bath and Body Works carries, and are a good option, once children are 12 months or older, because, unlike reed defusers or plug-ins, light bulbs in light fixtures or lamps are all ready well out of reach in a well-baby-proofed room anyway. There are sprays with no alcohol and no synthetic carrier oils that contain essential oils which can be sprayed on baby bedding, but unfortunately Bath and Body Work's pillow mists are not such sprays. If you are using disposable diapers I would reccomend taking your used up fragrance bulbs and putting them right in the bottom of the pail or in the place where you can put a carbon filter. It really helps. Also you can put a fragrance oil or an essential oil on a cotton ball and pop that in the diaper pail. If you sprayed a pillow mist or a scented room spray from Bath and Body Works directly onto the dirty diapers, right into the pail and could keep from getting any into the air of the room, it would be alright for your baby and might cut down on diaper pail odor. Obviously, burning insense or burning scented candels or lighting oil warmers anywhere a baby could reach it and tip it over or burn them selves is not a good idea, but setting an unlighted scented candel on a high shelf can also do wonders. In terms of scents, for essential oils for 12 months and under I would reccomend orange, as it is sweet and happy, lavinder as it helps soothe and premotes restful sleep, eucoliptus because it helps kill germs in the air naturally and smells clean and fresh and lemon or lime as it nutralizes odors from diapers very nicely, as it is very intense. For Wall Flowers and Scent Ports for babies over a year old I would reccomend creamy nutmeg, creamy caramel, vanilla caramel, sweet cinimon pumpkin and vanilla coconut if your baby seems very active and you want to temper their energy with a little bit of quiet play and warm comfort. I would reccomend mango manderan, kitchen lemon, bartlit pair or fresh citrus if your baby is a bit lethargic and you want to invigorate them with positive happy feelings. For babies who have trouble getting to sleep, something like the lavindar camamile scent might be helpful. There are a lot of pretty, generically clean fresh scents, like fresh bamboo, sea island cotton, dancing watters, etc, but those seem to be more of a hit with adults for their sophistication. Make your baby's room for them, not you, and try to pick a kid friendly scent. I hope this was helpful. I admit up front that I would never use any Bath and Body Works product on my infant. Organic, all-natural products, whose entire ingredient list you can understand are a must for babies, but I love Bath and Body Works scents for my self and my family in their plug-ins, oils and candels. Some people don't think at all about what they put onto and into their body and their baby's body, and some go insane trying to eliminate every possible toxin from their and their baby's environment and will only use body care and cleaning products that they have made from scratch. I'm in the middle, insisting on the purest for my baby, and picking safe, predominintly natural, if not perfectly so, products for my self. As the home fragrance products don't go on your skin, they are not absorbed into your body, and they are a great compermize for people who have decided to go green, but desperately miss the scents of the body products they used to use. I reccomend Wall Flowers and Scent Ports to all of my friends who celebrate their pure organic lotions and soaps, but morn that they will never smell Warm Vanilla Sugar or Mango Manderan ever again.

If you're putting it in a baby's room, I would recommend that you use a Wallflower. Scentports would be way too strong (in my opinion). If you want to create a sweet, gentle ambiance for your child, I would use Bartlett Pear. It's a mixture of ripe pears, green apples and peaches. It's basically a fruit medley that is primarily pear. It's a clean and crisp scent that will cover the odor of a diaper pail.

i use the aromatherapy pillow mist, sleep collection, lavender vanilla.
i have read that vanilla is soothing for babies
i was originally going to buy one of the wallflowers but the sales clerk suggested the pillow spray then it's only on the sheets and the baby associates it with sleep more than getting used to the smell in the whole room
all in all i like the smell of it and use it about every other night
it leaves a nice scent in the room as well
