Question
Which smells better; Midnight Pomegranate or Black Amethyst?
I absolutely love Japanese Cherry Blossom's heavy scent, however I just want something new to wear that makes me feel sexy, but not overwhelming to others.

They are both great!! If you lean to fruitier scents you would prefer Midnight Pomegranate. While it maintains all the characteristics of the fruity scents,it has a sultriness that doesn't exist with the others.

Black Amethyst is a dark, brooding scent that contains elements of floral, exotic, fruity, all while topped off with vanilla.

To me, I enjoy both of them. Midnight pomegrante is a sweeter yet bolder scent than the Black Amethyst which is a sexier scent. Midnight pomegrante is a scent that I would wear daily, but I would save the Black Amethyst for a sexy night out on the town.

For me, Black Amethyst is the heavier scent between the two. It's much more of a cologne/perfume scent. Midnight Pomegranate is a lighter, fruitier scent. I personally think the Black Amethyst is too strong, but it might work for you if you like the heavier scents.

Well the Pomegranate is sweet where the Amethyst is musky. One smells like powdered kool aide or pixie sticks while the other is deep and rich. If you want a sexy smell then the Amethyst is a must, it remindes me of the Amber if you've ever used that scent. On the other hand I adore my Pomegrante, it's so fun, sweet and playful.
I always say stop in a store and let your nose guide you, if for some reason you can't do that it sounds like the Black Amethyst is what you're looking for.

Chances are, if you like Japanese Cherry Blossom, you'd probably like Black Amethyst over Midnight Pomegranate. I like both of them, but the Midnight Pomegranate smells like a deep, dark, rich fruit. It definitely allows its strong fruit notes to come out.
Black Amethyst, like Japanese Cherry Blossom, is strong, but it is also sophisticated, chic, and the two can be swapped interchangably for nights on the town, dates, or just having fun.
Between the two, I'd recommend Black Amethyst if you want the one closest to Japanese Cherry Blossom, but Midnight Pomegranate if a dark fruit scent doesn't bother you.

I just love the Black Amethyst. My favorite is Sensual Amber so it wasn't hard to latch on to this musky fragrence. Get you a 2 oz bottle and try it. You will love it.
If you would like something soft, try mixing Vanilla with some of the other scents. Its amazing

Between Midnight Pomegranate and Black Amethyst, I recommend Black Amethyst.
To me, MP smells too tart and sweet, somewhat artificial and when I bought the cream I couldn't stand to wear it. Black Amethyst is exotic and warm, a very unique scent. I feel sexy but not overwhelmingly strong when I wear it out. Another scent I find to be kind of feminine and sexy is Sensual Amber.

A body cream is thicker and better if you want your skin to have a nice sheen and a longer lasting fragrance.
Body lotion is much lighter and does not last as long. Great to be used on the hands with frequent handwashing or just to add a bit more moisture.

The Signature Collection Body Lotion is a great jack-of-all-trades lotion. It does things well, but nothing exceptionally well. It doesn't really 'specialize.' It is fantastic for your hands, as it doesn't leave them overly greasy, and it is a decent moisturizer for the body, but I don't recommend it during the harsh winters or if oyu have sensitive skin.
The Body Creams, on the other hand, are slightly thicker, and are the middle of the road in terms of thickness. It is thicker than the Body Lotion but much thinner than the Body Butters. The Body Creams are a better moisturizer for your body, and will be much better suited to combat the dry skin that comes with winter. It does, however, leave your hands slightly greasy.
My recommendation? Get the Body Cream if you have moderately dry skin or need something for winter. If you have very badly dried skin, try the Body Butter. If you've got normal skin, stick with the Body Lotion.

The main difference between body cream and body lotion is the MINERAL OIL! Both nourish the skin equally! If you really want to go for intense moisture, use the body butter. If you are looking for a great lotion to moisturize your skin, select a product that is either water or aloe based. Mineral oil based products will never absorb into your skin, it merely creates the illusion of moisturezed skin! Go for the body butter for all day moisture or continually use the lotion for all day fragrancing!

Body Lotion: Lighter, thinner consistency than cream. Most common all-over body moisturizer. Might not be thick enough for dry skin.
Body Cream: A thicker consistency than body lotion, almost a cross between body lotion and body butter. Mostly used on very dry spots like elbows, knees, and feet. Could be used all-over for dry to very dry skin.
Both are great and depending on your skins needs you might prefer one over the other or use both together (which is what I do).

answer 10
The most noticable different between body cream and body lotion is the thickness. Body lotion is best to use for the whole body, it rubs in very easily, espeically if you're in a rush. Body creams are more moisturizing, and are especially useful on dry spots like knees, elbows, and feet. Body cream can be used on the whole body, it just depends on how dry of skin you have. People tend to switch to body cream in the winter time due to their skin becoming more dry.

Another vote for C.O. Bigelow Derma Remedy. It is simply amazing! It has Lactic Acid in the lotion. What that does is exfoliate the skin gently by promoting new skin cell growth. What happens to skin in the winter is that as it gets drier, the dead skin cells build up on the top of the skin, giving it that ashy, scaly, flaky look, and making it itchy. The Derma Remedy products "remedy" that through the lactic acid and the intense moisture it provides. Plus an added bonus is that it is Fragrance Free. So it is great for almost anyone, and MEN TOO! It is well worth the price and will cure your winter skin woes!

I have very dry skin all year round especially in the dryer seasons. I went into a store and the girl working had me try the True Blue Spa 60 second hands. It is an orange sugar scrub that washes away dry and dead skin. Then she had me put on Tru Blue Spas Shea Cashmere lotion. I didn't buy that day and the next morning I was in the store buying both products. My hands have never been so moisturized and pretty!!!

Oh, Derma Remedy all the way! I have the same problem, and I scratch legs raw. Thd Derma Remedy Lotion works wonders. According to the description here, the lotion increases moisture by 75%. Now I can't say I've used it long enough to actually verify such a nice number, but I imagine with extended use, I will notice the improvement. For the more hardcore, I would suggest the Derma Remedy Medicated Treatment. I 've never used it, but it sounds pretty intense.

Also try searching the website for "Winter Survival Kit". It has Chapped Hands Remedy, Chapped Hands Cleanser, and the Derma Remedy Lotion, plus some sort of SPF 15 lip product. I'm thinking about getting that myself.

TBS is an amazing line of moisturizes. Practically everything has shea butter in it. Lay it on Thick is good for the entire body, while I especially love Look Ma New Hands for my hands.

My boyfriend also has really damaged hands from his job, and especially now when winters upon us. he's been using the Intensive Dry Care Therapy Line (I believe that's what it is called) from CO Bigelow. Its a tad pricey, but the hand cream has done wonders for his hands. And it also comes in a body cream, shower cream... and some other forms as well.

I would go with the body butters. They are very thick and do wonders. My legs are always dry and I just use that right after I get out of the shower and they are smooth all day and night.

I know I will be the odd ball here, but just wanted to add that I think it depends on the scent and the person.

For stronger... the scent in the EDTs do smell stronger, more powerful than the mists. In the scents I use, I found that the mist smells closer to the creams and lotions as they are more subtle.

I have one scent where the EDT fades drastically after an hour even though it initially comes out with a punch. So much so that I can't even smell it on my wrists. But, the mist version lasts several hours.

Typically, the EDTs should smell stronger and last longer, but it doesn't mean it will. :(

The EDT is much stronger. It is perfect for an evening out or special occasion. The fragrance mist is great for everyday, and especially good for those who want a little fragrance, but don't want to be overpowering.

Eau de Toilettes (aka EDTs) have a higher concentration of fragrance oils than Fragrance Mists so they last longer.

Eau de toilette will last 4-6 hours on your skin. a body splash or fragrance mist only lasts 1-2 hours. Eau de toilette has a stronger concentration of fragrance oil so it will last longer

Eau de Toilette (EDT) and Fragrance Mist have the same fragrance, but the EDT has a longer lasting fragrance. The EDT has a higher concentration of fragrance oils, so the fragrance will last 6-8 hours as opposed to the 4-6 hours the fragrance mist will give you.

EDT's are stronger because they're meant to be a perfume and evening/professional scent. The splashes are light like deodorizer, just a subtle splash of fragrance.

The Eau de Toilette is going to have a much stronger fragrance than the Frag. mist. It is also going to last longer. The Frag mist is great for a touch up of frag throughout the day.

The Eau de Toilette. EDTs, as they are abbreviated, contain higher than average concentrations of fragrance oils that are used to scent the perfumes, and are the ones that would be most similar to the ones at high end department stores.
Fragrance Mist (formerly known as Body Splashes), are light perfumes that are ideal for quick touch ups, after a shower before applying perfume, and are made for easy layering.
When you layer a fragrance, it creates are stronger, bolder scent, and it stays on you longer in the day. This is why you would use the same scent in a shower gel, body lotion, fragrance mist, and perfume: to get the maximum effect.

The C.O. Bigelow mens lie is the best. The number one selling fragrance is the Blue but I personally got my boyfriend the Black it smells so good, everytime I hug him I could just stay there forever.

The end-all, be-all in my opinion is the C.O. Bigelow Shaving Cream in the emerald green box (usually kept in the C.O. Bigelow / Men's Barber collection).

It is imported from Italy and is used by Italian barbers. It's a really thick cream, that lathers extremely well. It also contains eucalyptus oil, and that cools your skin.

I fight razor burn, and have for years, and to be honest, this is the only shaving cream that I've used that even remotely comes close to helping. It is wonderful.

None of us can answer which of the four Barber Collection fragrances is best for your boyfriend, so go smell them for yourself and decide which is most like him. The blue is a really good seller, and tends to be a lighter, younger fragrance. It's cool and refreshing. The green is a more clean, natural, light fragrance. The red has a bit of a darker tone to it, as it's slightly spicier than the blue and green. The black is the darkest and the most adult and sophisticated for men.

My husband likes the original Bath & Body Works scents for Men. I really like the scents of the Mountain Frost and Glacier Bay shower gels. He smells so good all day! It is getting more and more difficult to find these scents though, and he is not a fan of the C.O. Bigelow or Molten Brown stuff.

My hubby loves the body splashes and washes. They don't cost as much as the expensive designer colognes and shower gels out there but smell just as nice. The Glacier Bay is a clean and fresh scent. Woodland and the Mountain Frost are also good. Try them and see which one seems most like your BF.
