Japanese Cherry Blossom, my favorite! It is warm and rich but not too over-powering. Smells expensive too. It is not flowery or fruity, and I get tired of those kinds of scents personally.
Sensual Amber is another good one for winter. A friend of mine has the hand lotion and I like it very much.

I would have to agree on the Japanese Cherry Blossom and the Velvet Tuberose -- I've actually been saving the latter until it got cold. Another good scent to revel in is Jasmine Vanilla; from the Aroma Therapy collection.

I recommend Velvet Tuberose as a "winter" fragrance. To me Velvet tuberose is a fragrance that reminds me of Christmas and and getting ready for snowy days. If this fragrance is too strong then I would go with something lighter like MIdnight Pomegranate or Sensual Amber.

As others have mentioned, Velvet Tuberose is great for winter. It's got a deep, seductive musk to it, but has other notes that make it sweet. It is definitely unique, but not everyone's cup of tea. I would also recommend the #1 seller, Japanese Cherry Blossom. If you like something a bit sweeter, I would try Sensual Amber, as well. The Sensual Amber tends to be more of a fall fragrance, at least for me, but is a good year round product as well. The new Black Amethyst is quite warm and nice, too.
If heavy and dark isn't your pleasure, I would certainly recommend Winter Candy Apple or Vanilla Bean Noel (especially this one). The Vanilla Bean Noel takes a classic vanilla fragrance, and mixes it into a fragrance that is warm, sweet, and smells absolutely wonderful on just about anybody.

Black Amethyst in the Signature Collection.
Shea Cashmere in the True Blue Spa line.
Both amazing fragrances and perfect for the winter time. And since it's winter stuff your asking for, in the signature collection they have a 'oil to cream' body wash. The cool thing is that it's warming!
Also since it's winter time, I would get the hand cream, for shea cashmere (or body cream for any sig. collection product) becasue your hadns tend to be drier.

I am not a big fruit fan but I would like to see maybe a light strawberry scent among fruit - something similar to strawberries and cream that was retired.
Or the smell of freshly cut crisp green apples would be nice and invigorating.

Among flowers I would like to see a 'sheer rose' (not strong, just a whisper of fresh, creamy light rose). Also a true floral bouquet with no strong dominating notes but a well balanced blend - almost like a airy veil of soft white flowers would be nice.
I would also like to see some spices, especially for fall - cardamom is a good one, I have a lip balm with rose and cardamom essential oils from the health food store and I love it. Cloves may be interesting when blended with other fragrances. I also love the smell of almonds.

Years ago, spring I think, there was a vetiver scent. I LOVED this scent! Given what scents have been popular recently, I think it's time to reintroduce this one or at least offer it online. It's a common European scent, but hard to find here unless you shop in very high-end boutique shops in NYC, LA, maybe Chicago.

I too would love to see a creamy lemon scent, and a coffee scent! I have tried the chocolate mocha from 100% pure, but it just doesnt smell right. I'd like to see a "fresh brewed" type coffee scent paired with a sweet, creamy, vanilla. It should be invigorating yet comforting. I'd like to see a good strawberry scent as well. I feel that the Strawberry Lemonade in the Classics should be redone because that smells nothing like its namesake.

I would like to see a sweet cherry or strawberry scent in the fruit line. I also love lemon. And I agree that a lilac scent would be nice. I do think that these scents would have to be single scent products. Trying to mix too many fragrances together usually just turns into a train wreck. Also, no shimmer. My husband and boys can't stand it. I think 'shimmer shots' should be offered in the store for a small charge to anyone who does want shimmer. That would cut down on having to make one with/one without. And those of us who don't need or want the shimmer can shop easier.

What a fun question!

I always wonder what the next "newest thing" is going to be.

There are alot of great ROSE scents out there; maybe a VANILLA ROSE. Something with a BABY POWDER aroma could be nice. I'd also like to see a sweet & creamy LEMON scent. Something similar to the Bigelow lemon, but in the Signature line.

Just my ideas, I guess we'll have to wait and see.

The scent is still the same, it's just a different product line. The bad news for the boys though is that the shower gel has glitter in it. I have some and the glitter washes right off, but there's something mentally about it that keeps my husband from using it. He sticks to the mint aromatherapies. I'm really sad though because there is no home fragrance this year in the peppermint and that was my all time favorite.

I actually tested a little bit of it at the store, and it is basically the same scent. I think they may have changed it a little, but it's still yummy and pepperminty.
Sadly, it is no longer a 3-in-1 (shampoo, body wash, etc). This year, it is just a shower gel, and it is shimmery, which means it's got glitter and stuff in it. Not really a thing for the whole family this time around, which I find disappointing.
I hope that helps.

The shower gel and creamy body wash are typically the same in terms of what it basically is-which is a cleansing agent, however they differ in terms of how they cleanse and what they contain. For instance, with the shower gel it contains aloe vera and the texture is gel like and with the new formula created it has a longer lasting frangrance life which can also be extended by layering with moisturisers and frangrance mists and/or eau de toilllettes and it has the same frangrance as whatever fragrance line it follows(japanese cherry blossom or moonlight path etc.) Shower gels are lighter in feeling and most people use shower gels during warmer periods. Now, as for the creamy body wash it is bit more 'luxurious' and with a creamier texture it contains aloe vera as well as shea butter and is a bit heavier in feeling. Not only does the creamy body wash cleanse the skin but almost acts as an in-shower moisturiser as well. Creamy body washes are usually used by people that suffer from dry skin(like myself) or by those who want to have an extra layer of moisture during colder periods in the year. Both are wonderful to have and like i had said before , they still follow their fragrant families.

Both go a long way and last quite a while, but I would say that the Creamy Body Wash takes less to create a lot of lather, and it leaves skin very soft after a shower, so much so that you almost don't need to follow with body lotion or cream if your skin is not too dry. The Shower gel, IMO, takes more product to get accurate lather, and it is much more drying (it is CLEAR, so that makes since, actually). I recommend going with the Creamy Body wash whether you have really dry skin or not.

The body washes are for normal skin. They contain light moisturizers like aloe vera whereas, the creamy body washes are more nourishing. They contain oat, milk and silk proteins to help hydrate the skin. I prefer the texture and moisture in the creamy body washes over the shower gels because they feel more luxurious on my skin.

Since the reformulation of the Shower Gel which will be available in stores starting 11/3/08-there's not much difference. It is more a personal preference. Many feel the creamy body washes are less drying than the shower gels. I have used both and like them equally. I do like using the creamy body washes to shave with because they seem to stay on the skin better and longer. That's the only difference I see.

More often than not, body washes (such as Signature Collection Creamy Body Wash or C.O. Bigelow Lemon Cream Body Wash) are formulated to be more moisturizing than a shower gel.

I find that the body washes give a better lather than the shower gels. With the shower gels, you feel cleaner, but it doesn't leave your skin feeling quite as soft. They both do the job well, but which is right for you really depends on your skin type is and what you're looking for.

answer 11
The term body wash is used to encompass anything that one uses to wash their body, regardless of type.
Bath and Body Works has two different types of body washes in their Signature Collection, excluding limited edition products such as the oil-to-cream shower gel.
The Shower Gel is typically the opaque liquid that comes in a bottle (not a tube). They recently reformulated them so they are more moisturizing to your skin. They continue Aloe Vera and Papaya Seed extract to help moisturize and seal in moisture. They lather up nicely and wash off very easily.
The Creamy Body Washes, however, come in tubes similar to the Body Cream. The Creamy Body Wash is essentially a much more luxurious, moisturizing shower gel. People with dry skin tend to prefer them over the shower gel, and they are fabulous in the winter time when people's skin is extra-dry. Hope this clarifies!

A rose scent would be nice, although I would want it to be a very delicate one. Peonies have a very soft "rose-like" scent too in my opinion and I am a big fan of the idea of a soft, delicate rose/peony fragrance.

Carnation would be really nice too, but again, I'd want it to be a soft, pure carnation scent that really smelled like the flower -- not muddled up with all kinds of other notes. I imagine the scent of when you put your nose up to a beautiful pink carnation and smell it.

I also like clean, fresh Lily of The Valley and spicy Marigolds

I agree with the rose fragrance. Bigelow had a rose scented lotion that was stunning and I would love to see BBW bring something like that to their signature collection. They also had a happy daisy fragrance that was very pretty and bright and would love to see that back again. Daffodil, lilac, and hibiscus would be other great choices in my opinion.

I like rose scents, too. But they can easily be overdone and be heavy and sickening - to me and those around me. Rose scents have to be treated as delicately as fresh rose blossoms themselves.

As many have suggested, a lilac scent would be nice, again if not too sweet or overpowering.

I know there are many pleasent orchid scents out there, from looking at orchid webpages. Don't know if they'd stand alone or need to combine with other scents. But too much in the "mixing pot" can ruin a fragrance.

One of my absolute favorite flowers is the stargazer lily. It is a very popular flower, but don't know if it would be popular in bodycare. It doesn't smell like a plain lily scent. Could easily be overpowering, if not done well.

I always look forward to spring b/c that means it's hyacinth blooming time. What an intoxicating smell. Hyacinth or a tastful hyacinth blend might be nice as well.

We also had at an older house some shrubs that had wonderful-smelling blooms. I believe the shrub was called "sweet olive." Not 100% sure, but pretty sure. The flowers were delightful.

Anyway, a few of my suggestions.

I have liked in the past: Daffodil Fields, Magnolia, Gardenia, Lavender (before Aromatherapy). Plumeria is nice, but doesn't smell exactly like the Hawaiian flower to me (must be other floral notes in there). And I thought BBW made a Lilac scent once before, perhaps a very long time ago, but I could be wrong.

I tend not to particularly care for floral fragrances, but I wanted for such a long time to have a lilac fragrance. The Slatkin and Co. make a beautiful Lilac Blossom candle and it smells absolutely like a lilac bush. However, it does not come in body care form.

When Butterfly Flower came out, I was ecstatic to learn that it had Asian Syringa, which is a variant of lilac. It pretty much satisfied every desire I had for a floral fragrance.

Rose would be nice, as I personally find Velvet Tuberose to be a little bit too intense!

I agree with a previous poster - the body lotions should all come with pumps. Much easier and quicker to use and I for one would buy more BBW lotion with that feature.

The new body splash bottles may look pretty but they are not very functional. As others have said, they tip over easily. I also find them hard to use as the top is so wide, I have a hard time holding and spraying - because I can't fully grip the bottle, it slips and I've gotten more spray leaking onto my fingers than I get on my body, I think. I've taken to pouring the liquid into the old bottles (of the scents I still have). Maybe if enough of us write to BBW to complain, they would consider going back to the old bottles, or something easier to use (make these new bottles wider on the bottom and thinner on the top?)...?

I like the old packaging better. I really liked the pictures on the old bottles - the graphics were more distinct, while the pictures on the new ones seem more blurred - kinda like impressionist paintings versus the traditional paintings - if that makes sense? I also agree about needing a coordinating picture on the fragrance mist.

I think the new fragrance mist/splash bottles look more "elegant" but I always loved the pretty pictures on the old bottles and I do miss that. It's not like I can't tell which is which though, I mean I can tell who's who by the color of the splash usually. However, I just liked the charm of the pretty pictures on the old bottles and the lowercase lettering. it always made me feel like B&BW products were accessible and not too "high end" for every woman to afford and enjoy. Just my opinion. Also, they seem a little top heavy. I find myself kinda digging the new sleek and "rounded hourglass" shape of the new shower gel/lotion bottles. However, I don't really see how the frag mist/splash bottles "go" with the shower gel/lotion bottles.

I really like the new bottles, EXCEPT the Fragrance Mist.

The bottles are unattractive, hard to read, and they fall over if you look at them the wrong way.

I'm pretty neutral about the new packaging. There are things that I like and things I don't care for. I like the new bottles for the lotion, shower gel, and bubble bath. I like the silver caps better because the old caps used to break so easily. The bottle is sleeker. The fragrance mist however could use some improvement. They made it too hard to tell what fragrance you're holding because the writing is small and silver so its hard to see. The colors of the splashes themselves are all pretty similar so that's no help. If the fragrances weren't labeled as you shop on this site you wouldn't be able to tell sea island cotton from coconut lime verbena. I agree there should be something else on the bottle to help indicate what fragrance it is, a picture would help. I like the new look of the bottle itself and I thought it was glass the first time I saw it. It's more sophisticated but the downside is that some scents are gender neutral so if you wanted to buy one for a man it wouldn't be appropriate. I haven't bought any creamy bodywash yet but from what I saw in the store I thought I was getting less product for more money. It turns out to be the same amount but I like the old taller bottles better.

I really liked the ROUND bottles of splash because they fit better wherever I stored them. The new bottle is bigger and quite awkward. Square bottles take up much more room than thinner round ones. And I have to agree...you need a photo on the new bottles because, YES, the name of the scent is very hard to read. Trying to guess by the color of the mist doesn't work too well.

The new caps on the shower gel and lotion are hard to pop up.

I really dislike the shape of the fragrance mists (body splashes). The bottle is awkwardly shaped and prone to tipping over with only a slight bump.

I agree with another reviewer on another thread in that the fragrance mists and EDT's need something better than a tiny little plastic stick-on label. Even with glasses to correct my vision I still have trouble reading the print. I don't know about adding pictures per se, but something! With a good quality labelmaker and metallic print label tape, you could do just as well.

The lotions (Signature) should all come in pumps. As far as comparing general packaging, I'm neutral. I don't think things are really any "better." I do like the images on the bottles and tubes.

I honestly hate the new packaging
Body Splashes: i like their shape but i want a picture on it !-- the writing is so small
Body lotions and shower gels: the bottle is hard to hold and i hate the metal cap because you cant twist it without it moving out of place. The old bottles of them had a much more comforting feel and thats what i liked about them.
I do not mind the creamy body washes, the body cream, body butter, and the perfume. Everything else looks horrible !!!!!!!

For spring and summer - Daffodil Fields hands down. Tangerine Spice was also great for warm months. Mango Mandarin I like a lot, but the spiciness of Tangerine Spice made it really special to me, a product that really stood out.

(I don't know about everyone else, but I'm getting a little tired of going into the stores and having the "latest greatest spring fragrance line" blasted into my retinas. I like it as a fragrance in general, but it will never be a fave.)

For cooler months - Creme Brulee (Tutti de Dolci line, absolute heaven!), and for anytime especially to wind down, Lavender Fields (better than the aromatherapy Lavender anyday in my book).

Totally Moonlight Path, Velvet Tuberose, Rainkissed Leaves, and maybe Black Amethyst.

I don't want to smell like greenery, nor like seriously heavy musk.

And even though it is "fresh" I can't stand Sea Island Cotton, either.

My personal choices for this question:

Black Amethyst - too strong and incensy for me
Black Raspberry Vanilla - boring sweet
Blushing Cherry Blossom - don't like that citrus note, makes me sneeze and headachy
Brown Sugar and Fig - smells greasy and sickening to me
Cucumber Melon - smells like over-ripe melon
Pearberry - boring, nothing special
Sensual Amber - sickeningly heavy

I gotta be honest, Vanilla Bean Noel is where it is at. I like Twisted Peppermint in the body scrub (awesome feeling), but Winter Candy Apple is way too sweet for me, and the Twisted Peppermint lotion reminds me of the smell of foot cream, so no go there!
Vanilla Bean Noel has it all: the sweet fragrance wrapped up in a warm, caramelized scent. It's absolutely the best body lotion of the three, in my opinion. It smells so incredible.
